Market America is a network marketing company which prides itself on not MLM . It has a “binary” compensation plan which goes infinitely deep and has no “levels.” However, the business model and compensation plan has a lot in common with MLMs. Market America sells a huge variety of products, just as its competitors Quixtar and Amway. All three companies have an extremely small profit margin for their distributors, often $5-$15 per item.

All three companies also feature a compensation plan where distributors’ main extra income online comes from team building. (Binary systems depend on building two teams with no levels, MLMs like Amway build a single team in multiple levels.) In both business models the sales volume of the teams is added to qualify for checks. In Market America, the minimum check is $300. Both business models promise a six-figure income within a few years. Market America promotes a two-year plan.

My personal observation is that due to the time-lag for developing a large income, and the small profits along the way, neither binary nor MLM plans will be attractive to anyone who has achieved a six-figure income in a traditional business or profession. Add to that the rigors of developing a sales team, and many entrepreneurs may prefer to find another compensation plan altogether.

I am one of the latter. I have owned traditional retail businesses (stores) which provided a six-figure income. While looking for the next venture, I tried Network Marketing/MLM and wasted years promoting low-profit items and building a team.

You can find almost all kinds of jobs in these freelance network sites, from part-time to full time to consulting work. Examples of work that can be found in these freelance network sites include writing, marketing, project management, customer service and computer programming. Of course, the more experience you have, the greater are your chances to get high paying online jobs.

Thanks to the Internet, working from home has never been as easy not to mention profitable. Opportunities to make money abound in the Internet. What you need to do is to go for these opportunities that is after you have made sure that they are legitimate.
