So you’ve done your research and you have a product or service that you know other people want.
You have it made in the shade….I mean you have the goods, so your business is set..right?
Well …ummmm….no… the work has just started. Your marketing techniques and the marketing channels you access are one of the most important factors to your success.
There are countless marketing techniques that you can use to drive your sales and grow your business. But do you take advantage of all the marketing techniques that your business could benefit from?
But for one reason or another many businesses stick to a couple of marketing techniques and never give any others a second chance. Granted that when there is limited capital, only so many marketing techniques can be implemented.
But, even with that said, a business should be ever expanding their marketing techniques, so they can have the opportunity of always reaching their market in different channels offline and online.
Also…. and I’m sure everyone would agree, that you don’t want to implement a marketing technique blindly. It would be good…well…critical to learn the best way to use the strategy by those who actually have successfully utilized the marketing technique themselves.
An example of this is using marketing techniques such as radio and television. You would probably never consider this form of marketing. But until you get the facts…do the research and really learn from those that do it…don’t discount it.
I’m not saying that everything will go perfectly..but…having the correct know how will give you the best chance of making you a profit, versus a big fat loss.
Just be aware that after all the research of marketing techniques…It just might not work for your business. But don’t count it out until you have the facts.
Let me give you some marketing techniques you could consider. Of course there are so many more than the few I’ve listed here. But… these are some you can think about in building your business.
* Web-sites…Special Reports…Time on radio…television spots…PPC…email marketing…Doing teleseminars…having recorded messages…Webinars…
* Monthly print newsletters…Email newsletters… Referral programs… Thank-you notes… Testimonials… Business Cards… Signage… Direct Mail Postcards… Grabber mail… Books… Ebooks… Seminars… Public speaking
*Advertising in Yellow pages…Magazine and newspaper advertising…mailing your offer using Valpak…offline and online press releases…article marketing both online and offline…
*Radio interview spots…Interviews for T.V. … Telemarketing…trade shows…search engine optimization…charity events… blogging…800 numbers etc. etc.
This list is just a brainstorm, I’m sure you can add a whole bunch of other marketing techniques that I never even thought about.
But the bottom line here is to NEVER reject marketing techniques because either you don’t know how to do it…or…you might think its out of date or useless.
It never hurts to learn as many marketing techniques as possible. If you find one that’s new to you, find out who uses it successfully and learn as much as you can from that person or company and learn to do it yourself.
When I think of using marketing techniques in my business the show ” The Deadliest Catch” comes to mind.
Fishing for crab is difficult, but regardless of the difficulty… the job must be done if they are going to put food on their tables and pay the bills.
The captain just doesn’t go to one spot and spend the whole time catching the crab. He goes to many spots and releases the pods(the cages that trap the crab)in many different areas.
It becomes a numbers game to a certain point. The captain just doesn’t go to one spot to get his crab. He moves all over, some places doing average and some places are excellent. He knows that he will eventually get his crab if he keeps looking and trying.
Your marketing efforts using many marketing techniques is like the crab fisherman. Having many marketing techniques in use, will yield far greater results. If by some chance a certain technique stops working well….you know so many others to keep driving your business forward. More pods in the water, give you a greater chance of catching or finding you future customer.
In conclusion, keep an open mind when it comes to marketing techniques. You will never know if one is right for you, unless you research it and use it in your own business. The one marketing technique you perceive as useless or stupid…just might be the next one that takes your business to the next level.
