Although Internet marketing is still marketing, there are specific methods and instruments which are used for online promotion. A lot of companies think that when they send Spam to thousands and even millions of people, that is a wonderful success for them. What they think is that even if 0. 5% of those people decide to buy the service/stock, they will make a good profit. However, less than 1% of the people read the messages as there is a good defense which put the suspicious messages in a separate folder which is deleted regularly by the user often without even opening it. And a really small number of the people who are unlucky decide to buy the product/service. But, there are many other people who would never buy a stock from the company they got a Spam message from. The conclusion is that spamming is not good for anyone.
In our century Internet is a mighty instrument of advertising. If there is a well-done marketing, the companies can achieve enormous success. Nowadays, there is no such a global thing as the Internet.
