And so you are prepared to build your own profitable business. Just what are the first actions you must take? Exactly where will you get customers? More importantly, Precisely what kind of potential customers do you require?
There are a few types of leads that a home business owner has at their finger tips. The primary targets are opportunity seekers, opportunity doers, and of course retail sales. What is the difference?
Consider that in most network marketing, mlm, or other opportunities, you can either retail the products for direct sale profits or you can recruit reps to work the business and earn residuals from their efforts. I suggest a combination of all of the above if you really want home business success. In any case there are certain things you should always have in place.
One fact that many people do not like to face is that this is sales. Owners like to shove it under the rug because so many people have crappy feelings about being a sales person. Consider the fact that if no sales are being made you are not making earning any profits.
Granted there are some techniques that make selling easier, to the point that you do not have to be good at sales. For instance; websites, webinars, manuals, ebooks, conference calls, seminars, tele-seminars etc can do most of the selling, convincing, and explaining for you. All types of marketing can grab the attention of the prospects and even refer them to the materials but like it or not there is still selling going on.
In fact, be proud of the fact that you are in sales. Keep in mind that no product is ever bought or sold without someone selling. This is the beginning of every transaction. No manufacturers can stay in business or employ people without the salesperson. No truck drivers or transporters have jobs without a sale being made. Competition and excellence would be gone.
While people sometimes look down on others who are in sales they often are unaware that the sales person makes a much better than average income. That is much like the owners of small businesses. You don’t sell means you don’t eat.
If you do enjoy just working for others and being an employee then possibly home business success is not for you. Personally, I gave up that gig long ago.
A few important things to consider:
1) Over 80 percent of purchases are not made until the sixth exposure
2) Statistically 80% of the reps make far below what the top 20% do in sales
3) Statics also show that 80% of all sales reps do not follow up more than a couple times.
It is no coincidence that the 80% who fail also fail at following up with their prospects. This translatesinto less sales for the 80% than the top 20% combined.
One huge asset to marketing on the web is also the tools that you can use explode your business. One key to success is generating lots of leads every single day. In fact, you you need so many leads per day that you cannot handle all the follow up.
Auto Responders can be a life saver and a huge money maker here. They will get back to your customers right after they opt in to your website and then will get back to them day after day and week after week. This can enhance the effectiveness of any rep who is working towards home business success.
