How are you going to get traffic to your blog? You can either write articles or use ads. The secret is in ranking high within the search engines.

If you want to rank high in the search engines you need to build up backlinks. The more the merrier.

There are three common ways to go about this. One of them is to buy ads, usually pay per click. The next one is to write articles and manually submit them to as many different directories as you can and the third on is to buy backlinks to your blog.

If you are going to use pay per click then you need to make sure that your keywords are optimized and target to the audience you are trying to get. If they are not you could very well lose a ton a money.

If buying links sounds like a good idea just keep in mind that not all links are created equal. When you buy links they have to come from high PR sites or they won’t help you very much. Buying high PR links can cost a lot of money.

You also want to make sure that the sites that are linking to you are in the same category as your blog. When you have links that are from the same kind of site as yours the search engines hold them in higher importance.

When you are article marketing the more articles that you have submitted the more traffic you will receive. Article marketing has two advantages. The first is that you can create content that will allow people to read it and click over to your site if they like what they read and second it gives your site backlinks.

You can also write and manually submit your articles to directories for free. Most article directories don’t charge you to submit your article and you can use the author resource box to put your links to your blog in. Generally you can use two links in an article resource box.

There are two different ways to article market. The first way is to write your article and manually submit it to a directory. When you do this you need to write a new article for every directory you submit to so you don’t end up with duplicate content. The other way you can go is to use an article submission site. Writing new articles and manually submitting them takes a lot of time but it’s also free.

Manually submitting articles take a lot of time so using an article submission site will free up mass amounts of your time. One thing you have to watch is that a lot of the submission sites don’t send out unique articles for you. If they are not sending out unique content you will have a lot of duplicate content on the internet. Search engines don’t especially like duplicate content and if they don’t like it, neither will you.
