My career in the radio industry has always been challenging, but at the time I absolutely loved it. I did eventually real my goals, but it was a battle for a long time. Many people see jobs in the media industry and think “Oh how glamorous and exciting”, but my family knew the sacrifices I had to make to get ahead. Many of them would suggest I follow a more sensible and traditional career path such as a teacher, but although I admire people who do those jobs it just wasn’t for me. Radio allowed me to show off a creative side of myself as well as be technically challenging and experience the buzz of constant pressures and deadlines.

I continued in this industry for about 10 years and while I achieved many goals, there was still something missing. I really feel like my goal in life is to help people and animals . And to be able to inspire others with my passion. But how could I do this when the financial crisis looks like its just getting worse and I have just given birth to my first child? My husband also lost his job and had to do some laboring just to keep paying the rent, so the outlook wasn’t very inspiring.

Every one of us could come up with tons of reasons why we shouldn’t follow our dreams right now, but seriously when are you going to stop with the excuses?!?!?!? Life will ALWAYS be busy. You may be getting married, having a baby, trying to lose weight, trying to pay the mortgage etc.

Well to be honest that’s just a load of crap! Sorry to put it bluntly, but YOU are one only one putting up those hurdles. Don’t feel bad, I did exactly the same thing and so do millions of others around the world. They settle for mediocrity because its easy …. in the SHORT TERM!

My eyes suddenly opened when I had my first baby. I had a desire to provide her a lifestyle I once only dreamt about, but I also had an overwhelming urge to do something I love and make her proud to be my daughter. What if I could achieve it all? From that day I started reading lots of books. Books by famous entrepreneurs like Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump and Richard Branson and also lots of self help books like “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne and “The Power Of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. Slowly I started believing in myself, which I kept reading is the first step and one of the most important keys to success. I thought back over my life for the past 10 years and while I had a great time, I realised I wasn’t truly happy. I was content with my average achievements, but now it was time to STEP UP!

I know I learn much better if I taught with pictures, so I created my own VISION BOARD. Its a big piece of cardboard with all my dreams and aspirations pasted all over it. You can be as creative as you like. I used pictures from magazines, photos and bits and pieces from my old scrapbooking kit to create a collage of what I want to achieve in life. Theres pictures of Siberian Husky dogs because I want to go dog sledding one day, a photo of my husband and daughter with the words LOVE and SUCCESSFUL FAMILY around. There’s also little notes of aspirations that say WRITE A BOOK, CREATE ANIMAL TV SHOW etc.

And … one of my main goals was to run an online business so I could be a stay-at-home Mum.

So I started looking online and trialing a few different businesses and jobs: 1. affiliate marketing 2. online data entry job 3. multi-level-marketing (MLM)

I absolutely hated MLM the most. Friends and family started avoiding me because I was always trying to sell them something or sign them up.

But I had heard of so many people making a living from working online. The next step is sorting out the GENUINE offers from the CROOKS. Put each company under the microscope and initially check if they are in fact a registered company. Get past all the HYPE of limited time offers etc. that’s all crap! Look at the facts and if they put pressure on you then run a mile and definitely don’t hand over your credit card details if they won’t tell you EXACTLY what the opportunity is.

In the end I decided to go with an Internet Marketing company that promotes Personal Development and I love it. Seriously could it get any better?!?! I’m proud to be a part of the company because of the products we provide to an ever booming market and also because they’ll help me create a lucrative home business to provide the lifestyle my family deserves.

So whatever you choose just remember it is a CHOICE and you only have yourself to blame if you don’t like the results. Do you choose PASSION or PROSPERITY?

I chose BOTH!
