Many so called experts, uplines or mentors will tell you to do many things hoping you sign up with them, hand over your hard earned cash and then figure it out yourself. But no matter who you sign up with there are some key points that will help you succeed in this industry when so many others give up.

#1 Your MINDSET is SO important! Unless someone has the right mindset I refuse to work with them. People who have an attitude problem and it doesn’t seem like they can change are way too hard work for me and usually a waste of my time. When I went looking for a mentor I looked for someone who was driven like me and who also wanted to help me out of my situation.

#2 What’s Your DESIRE? You need a REAL DESIRE – one that LIGHTS A FIRE inside of you. Many people say “I want a nice House” I want a nice car” …. but dig a bit deeper. Why do you want those things? Is it because you want to have a home big enough for your kids to have their own rooms with a backyard and a puppy? Or perhaps you really want to have that awesome car because you have always driven a bomb and never owned a Brand New car in your life and love that “New Car Smell”? Perhaps you want to travel to Africa and help build a school? Whatever it is …. write it down and look at it everyday!

#3 Do you like the PRODUCTS? Can you talk passionately about skin care or the latest super juice? As much as I like them I couldn’t, so why would I go around marketing something I don’t have a passion about. Look at all the companies and make one of the criteria when choosing who to join “Could I talk about this without sounding fake?” I chose a company who markets Personal Development and Motivational products and I now find my work really easy.

#4 Whats the MONEY like? Its important to REALLY analyze how much you’re going to get paid and for how much work. I remember joining a multi-level-marketing company a long time ago and you had to do SSSSSSSOOOOOO much work to get paid hardly anything. It was really crappy! I think the first month was too small even to bother cashing the cheque. I was told if I work hard for 3-5 years then I would get to spend more time with my family ” hahahahahhaha!!!!!! Obviously I quit. There are many more lucrative opportunities out there. Some with much better compensation plans than others, so decide carefully.

#5 How much training do you need or get? Check if there’s much training involved and if its easily accessible and free. You don’t want to have to pay extra for ongoing training and support. How long will you get one-on-one mentoring and how long will that last? People who join dodgy companies have many emails and phone calls unanswered. Those who get loads of mentoring feel supported and stick around longer to enjoy the success.

#6 Are you COACHABLE? And … Are you DISCIPLINED? If you want a job thn go and get a typing job online, but most of the “Work From Home” business opportunities that offer the big dollars are run just like a business, so if you want to succeed you have to treat it like one. Don’t stress I had never run my own business before, but if you’re willing to learn then sign up with your chosen company and soak it all up like a sponge!

All in all its an amazing industry to be involved in and there is so much money to be made its not funny. I am so grateful that we live in this day and age we are able to have options where we can work a business around families. Don’t get me wrong there is work involved, but compared to anything I’ve EVER done before its really easy and ssssoooo much fun!
