So, you know by now that you can generate traffic to a website by paying for it with advertising, for instance through pay-per-click or something like banner ads, or any number of pay per visitor advertising. The other option is spending the time to get your website ranked in the search engines. Either of these methods requires time and or money. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t maximize your return on either time or money investment by leveraging different types of media, but you’re still exchanging time or money for visitors.
Aside from the traditional methods or even some of the newer methods of getting traffic to a website, you’ll be able to get traffic to your site by redirecting traffic or strategically placing links and ads on the site that you purchase. Based on traffic estimates and how closely related your target website is to the website you purchase.
What you need to know to make this work is what your visitor value is. How much is each visitor to your site worth. There are going to be two different types of visitors most likely, the two types of visitors are probably those that come in from search engines or search engine pay-per-click. These types of visitors would be considered targeted visitors.
Some of the visitors to your site that aren’t there for the main content and just happen on the site some other way would be considered un-targeted traffic. Your focus is getting as much targeted traffic you possible can. Anything else you’re just paying for bandwidth.
Once you know your visitor value and have good estimates on both targeted traffic and untargeted traffic for the visitor value, you’ll be in a better position to make a value judgement on buying this new site based on how much traffic you’ll get from that source.
Sitepoint.com has a marketplace where people can buy and sell websites. eBay is also another site where you can buy and sell websites. Between these two sources, you should have a good place to go and get started. There is also supplemental info on both of these sites in the form of guides that you can also download and read up on additional tips and tricks for how to buy and sell websites.
Don’t buy a website on your first time out. What I mean is that no matter how good it sounds, wait a little while and research several sites before you commit to buy to get a feel for what types of sites fetch what price. So, consider this when you go to purchase a new website.
Not only can buying a new website help your existing site by being a source of links and traffic, but buying new sites can be an investment in and of itself that you could later resell for a profit and recoup your original investment and more depending on what you do with the site.
I mostly use article marketing to promote my youtube videos. I have two videos lately that I’m trying to get ranked. One of these is about affordable web hosting and the other one is for a bluehost coupon.
