As your eBay business progresses and you sell more and more merchandise, the things could also get more and more confusing. The small platform you use for storing your merchandise wont be of great help to you as you build your eBay business. Your entrepreneurial skill would have to be employed here the most.

You can use quality packing to impress and keep your buyers happy. Be careful about the packing because it will cost only more if unaware of how it is being done. At the same time the quality of packing material can either earn you more goodwill and business or cause dent in the profits.

Proper shipping of your product is absolutely necessary to run your business and though it may consume most part of time available you have no option but to ensure that the product safely reaches the customer. You have to treat the customers purchases with the utmost of care and respect.

A little bit of preplanning must be done on how you intend to ship your products. The customer should also be informed of the shipping method in item description but the question arises as to what is the right time to ship the item?

Once the cost and all the charges are paid and credited into your account, the business courtesy demands that there should be no delay in shipping the item. Generally it should be shipped within a day of having received payment but in case there is some reason for any probable delay then immediately intimate the buyer through email etc. and give reasons.

Once the item has been bought, the buyer expects it to be shipped within 24 to 48 hours though, the Federal Trade Commissions rule stipulates 30 days for mail order -a little known rule.

This rule implies that unless a specific shipping time is mentioned in the conditions, all mail order businesses must ship the item within 30 days.

Insurance is another matter to consider if you’re consistently shipping lots of packages. Will you make insurance against loss or damage available to your buyers?
