One trend that has been growing in recent years is article submission sites. These are popping up all over the place. They charge a small fee to the purchaser for the right to have their articles spread all over the place. This drives visitors to their website giving them more visibility and profitability.

What these articles try to do is called search engine optimization. With back links that go back to the original site they try to sell their products by making sure that they are first on a search engine.

The web site owner finds a writer who agrees to write the articles for a small fee so that they can be put on the services.

After the articles are written they are purchased by the web site owner and the copyright resorts to them. Many of these articles are similar but that doesn’t matter because they are going to different services.

The articles are then the property of the web site owner and they are taken to an article submission site and put on the web so that they can direct as much traffic as possible to the original site.

When the articles are given to the article submitter they are supposed to have the proper words that people would use to search for that particular subject. These SEO words have to be in the article in such a way that they will look natural and lead the person reading to want to look at the web site that they came from.

What the article is intended for is to drive traffic, yes, but also to keep it coming. The article has to naturally make people want to see what is going on at the site and then want to purchase the product. This is termed organic traffic. It is called such because it comes to the site without there being any false shoring up. It is a natural phenomenon rather than an artificial one.

Once an article has stopped being effective it will usually be scrapped or reloaded onto another submission site.

The people who write the articles are paid very little, but tend to write a lot. They will write sometimes hundreds of articles per week and sometimes work as a team to make sure that they are getting enough submissions. This will mean more traffic for the original owner of the article.

The smaller web sites that need to use these article submission websites do so because they cannot artificially generate the traffic that a well-funded big-name company can. This process has allowed many people to enter the web as business people who would have been excluded not very long ago.

The smaller web sites now have a voice on the very congested world wide web. They can use the article submitters and have a better chance of getting their message out to a greater number of people. With the amount of services offered on the web today it is very difficult to be different, but the different article writers and submitters out there are trying to make sure that every small player has a voice also.
