I work from home and spend probably 20 hrs. or more online. Being the curious type I developed a bad habit of clicking on anything that looked remotely interesting. This is very bad as I came to find out. Imagine my surprise when I checked my email and found an avalanche of new mail. Some of the mail sounded very enterprising so guess what, I opened several. Boom! the cycle began .

Reading email, sending email, rebates, data entry, paid surveys, paid reviews, were they all scams? This was 2006 and I had just bought my first computer, so to say I was a little green was like saying the economy had hit a liitle speed bump. But hey I was inexperienced not stupid, I had a great research tool and I was looking right at it. Use the computer Dummy!

I typed in scams on my browser and low and behold I discovered lots and lots of articles. Most of the atricles were just venting but I didn’t want to vent I wanted information. There are many websites that watch over the internet and provide information on scam prevention. I looked at several and here are two you should visit.

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org.php/ and http://www.onguardonline.gov/. These watchdog sites and many others can help identify fraud and scams. Don’t forget The Better Business Bureau, Local law enforcement, and the local FBI are available online to assist you also. Hope this helped in a small way.
