Do you ever get a feeling that the minute you master a marketing technique, the internet changes and you have to modify what you do accordingly? Well, that’s definitely the case with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The methods of increasing your MLM Lead Generation page popularity are always evolving.

Since the beginning of SEO though, there were several techniques that always were and always be the search engine optimization center core. Today, we will focus on the most basic, yet the most important of them – the keyword.

There is no such thing as successful search engine optimization without getting the basics right. Keywords are the basics of the basics; so if you are dreaming of SEO MLM lead generation for your MLM home business, you need to pay close attention.

A keyword is simply what people search for when using the search box of a search engine. It can be just one word or any number of words.

For example, both /MLM/ and /MLM Residual Income/ are keywords. Since the latter has more than one word in it, it can also be referred to a keyword phrase or a keyphrase. Researching and targeting specific industry keywords will do wonders for your SEO. You can start by weaving these keywords into your website content.

So, why should you go to such great length looking for the right keywords? Well, simply put, if internet surfers can’t find you, you do not exist. Let’s say they are looking for information on your MLM opportunity by name, but your website is not optimized for that keyword. In that case, all your potential MLM leads will go to your competitors who actually took their time to master this step.

Here is something to remember though: it’s a huge mistake to choose your keywords based solely on your content without knowing how competitive they are. Let me explain what I mean with an example.

Let’s say your website is primarily about a work from home business. It would be a terrible idea for you to target /work from home/ keyword. If you do a quick Google search for this keyword, you will find as many as 309M results! Do you think you stand a chance getting to the first page for this keyword?

Now, let’s try to change our keyword a bit and see what results we come up with. I did a search for /successful work from home business opportunity/ and came up with 47M results. Not great, but much, much better. It will be a LOT easier to get to the front page with this keyword and get those MLM leads flowing to your website.

VERY IMPORTANT: it’s better to rank high for a lower-search volume keyword than low for a high-search volume keyword.

Let’s move on to some practical advice on how to find great keywords to work with.

I’d like to suggest a couple of ways. One of the criteria you should look at is your keyword search volume. It should give you an idea of how popular the keyword is. So simply go to a Google search box, type in your keyword and see how many results come up. Again, anything under 300K is pretty good. It might take some trial and error, but you will eventually find those money-making keywords and increase your MLM lead generation. The end result will definitely be worth the work.
